The deal
You get a link that looks like picotally.com/r/yourname. Anyone who signs up through it and pays for the PicoTally web plan earns you 30% of every payment we receive from them, for as long as they keep paying. Not for a year. For as long as they are a customer.
That is $2.99 a month for each customer on the $9.99 Pro plan and $5.99 a month for each customer on the $19.99 Pro Max plan. The number that matters is the yearly one, because it repeats: a customer you introduce once keeps paying you every month they stay, and next year looks the same without doing the work again.

That table is arithmetic, not a promise: it is the rate multiplied by customers and months, and you can check it yourself. Whether anyone signs up, and whether they stay, is up to them. The program is new, so we have no typical earnings figure to quote you. Pro Max customers are worth double, and nothing about any customer’s individual usage is ever measured against you.
How it works
- Share your link anywhere you like: a text, a Facebook group, a video description, a business card.
- The link remembers you for 90 days in that person's browser, so they can sign up later and it still counts.
- The customer's first month is free. Your share starts with their first real payment.
- We pay you monthly by bank transfer (ACH) or Zelle, after a 30-day hold on each payment (that is how long a customer can ask for a refund). There is a $25 minimum; anything smaller rolls over to the next month. We do not pay by PayPal or Venmo.
The rules
- Two things before your first payout. You accept the Referral Partner Agreement on your partner page, and we have your completed IRS Form W-9 — the one-page IRS form that lets us report what we paid you. We request it through our tax-filing service, which stores it for us: never email the form or your taxpayer number to us, and a free EIN from the IRS works in place of a Social Security number. Your referrals are counted from day one either way; these two only gate the money.
- You see your numbers, not your customers’. Your partner page shows totals: sign-ups through your link, paying customers, and your share. It never shows who a customer is or what they do inside the app.
- Web plan only. Apple and Google do not tell us which link an app-store subscriber came from, so only sign-ups through the browser can be credited. Your link sends phone visitors to the browser sign-up for that reason.
- Last link wins. The link is remembered for 90 days. If someone clicked another partner’s link and then yours inside that window, the most recent one counts.
- We can only credit what the system recorded. If someone signs up without using your link, we cannot add them afterwards.
- On money we actually receive, net of refunds, failed payments and chargebacks. If a payment we already paid you for is later refunded or charged back, that amount comes off your next payout. We will never ask you to send money back.
- No self-referrals. Your own account, your own business, or accounts you control do not count.
- Say that you get paid. Wherever you recommend PicoTally, make the relationship clear. One line does it: “I get a share of what PicoTally customers pay if you sign up through my link.” That is the law (the FTC’s endorsement rules), and it is also just honest.
- Never ask for App Store or Google Play reviews. Apple and Google forbid rewarded reviews and would penalize the app, not you. Recommend us anywhere else you like.
- Be truthful. Only claim what the app actually does, and never promise a tax outcome. If you are not sure, ask us.
- No bulk email or texting. Personal messages to people you know are exactly right. Mass email, mass texts and purchased lists are not, and they carry their own legal rules.
- Do not bid on our name. No paid ads on “PicoTally” or lookalike spellings, and no domains or accounts that could be mistaken for us.
- Do not pay people to sign up. No cash, rebates or gifts in exchange for using your link.
- Percentage changes apply to future referrals only. We may change the percentage for new referrals with 30 days’ notice. Customers you already referred keep earning you the percentage you signed up under, for as long as they pay.
- Taxes. Partners must be US residents. You handle your own taxes; we do not withhold. We will send you a 1099 form if the law requires one for what we paid you that year.
- If PicoTally is sold, or we close the program, we can either keep paying you as normal or buy out your future payments for 12 times your recent monthly average. Either way, everything already owed to you is paid. We give 30 days’ notice before closing the program.
- We can remove a partner who breaks these rules.
